Sad to say, we’ll not be finding out whether a MOD 70 beats an ORMA 60 over 390nm. Scallywag contacted Race Control at 14.36 to say they had retired with a broken foil. At the time she was some 90nm from Hong Kong, just behind race leader Beau Geste. No injuries reported. Scallywag is now making her way back to Hong Kong at 14kts upwind, and is expected back in the pen sometime after 20.00h.
