Fierce winds hitting up to 35 knots forced the race committee to cancel the racing today, so the teams had an unexpected opportunity to visit the city on a tour offered generously by the event's organizers.

The sailors had the chance to visit the old town center, experience the local culture and of course taste the local cuisine. The crews had a relaxing time away from the boats and no doubt gained some beautiful memories out of this trip to take back home.

To recap some of yesterday's memorable action moments, Team China had some great results on the opening day of 2018 Shanghai Cup. After six races their constant efforts and persistence send them up in 4th place, just one point away from the podium. This is a huge improvement from last year, testament to the hard training that Team China have put in, proving that hard work and consistency is the key to success.

It was certainly a very different afternoon for the sailors, but tomorrow it's back to the racing on what will be a decisive day for the 2018 Shanghai Cup.
