48th Newport International Boat Show a massive success

Newport Exhibition Group, owners and producers of the Newport International Boat Show, announced today that its 2018 Show was a huge success.
A final tally of ticket sales put the show's overall attendance, especially on Saturday, at the highest it has been since the most recent economic downturn. Sponsors like LH Finance, Oris Watches and Helly Hansen Newport are already discussing plans for the 2019 Show.
The four-day show held along the waterfront on America's Cup Avenue in Newport, Rhode Island, opened on Thursday, September 13th and continued through Sunday, September 16th. This year's event included over 400 boats in the water and 600 exhibitors from around the world displaying an exceptional assortment of boats of every type and style from 15 to 85 feet, and a wide variety of accessories, equipment, electronics, gear and services for boaters.
Twenty percent of exhibitors came from outside the United States and represented 20 different countries. Over 41,000 visitors attended the show—coming from near and far—to make a positive economic impact on Newport County and the state in the millions of dollars.
"We are so pleased with the results of this year's show," said Nancy Piffard, show director, Newport Exhibition Group. "Weather was perfect, attendance was up, particularly on Saturday, and our exhibitors and sponsors reported strong sales and great conversations with potential customers. I hope this positive trend continues!"
