As part of its ongoing commitment to continually deliver products and services which surpass customer expectations, leading marine propulsion specialist, ZF has launched the SUPERSHIFT2 integrated clutch control system.

The latest in shift technology, ZF's SUPERSHIFT2 sets a new benchmark in delivering superior performance and comfort to operators, with its quick shifting and high levels of smoothness and control.

Its enhanced product design sees transmissions react instantenously to shift input signals.

Unlike other commercially available marine transmissions, ZF's SUPERSHIFT2 negates the need for an additional hydraulic circuit through its enhanced clutch pack configuration and efficient hydraulic system, creating a simple and robust design.

With a 30 per cent less drop in RPM and peak torque reduced by up to 40 per cent, when compared to the preceding model, a smoother shift is generated to deliver better comfort and control as demanded by operators.

Extensive research and development was undertaken in the development of SUPERSHIFT2, as ZF Services Australia's Head OE OES Sales Oceania Gary Bain explained.

"ZF's engineers evaluated every system of the ZF Marine Propulsion Systems transmission to see where improvements and efficiency gains could be made," he said.

"Drawing from ZF's superior transmission technology know-how from a range of industries, the team worked closely with vessel builders and operators to get their feedback on what would best serve their needs.

"The result is the SUPERSHIFT2, market leading shift technology that not only meets the requirements of operators now, but also in the future."

The SUPERSHIFT2 is incorporated as standard equipment on all transmission models.

It can be combined with ZF's standard trolling valve options including the proven AUTOTROLL functionality in the larger transmission range to deliver new standards in safe and slow speed maneuvering.

ZF is a global innovator in marine propulsion systems, including transmissions, thrusters, control systems and fixed pitch propellers for a wide range of vessels, including commercial and defence applications, as well as pleasure and fast crafts.

ZF Services provides a full supply, maintenance and technical support service for ZF Marine products globally and throughout Australia and New Zealand. Further information is available at www.zf.com/marine
