For the World ARC fleet Friday evening was Prize Giving time here in Lombok, the event was hosted at Marina Del Ray, the temporary base for the Rally whilst in Gili Gede. A tasty buffet of local Indonesian cuisine was enjoyed in pretty tropical surrounds where prizes were awarded to Aurora Polaris for the first place in Class A, to Blue Pearl for first place in class B, and the first place in Multihull Division to Misto.

Special Prizes were awarded to First Doublehander in corrected time and Least Engine Hours to Timshel, ETA competition to Spirit of Catherine, and Aranui for the First to sail across the Start Line.

Saturday afternoon Skippers attended a Skippers Briefing in preparation for the upcoming leg to the Australian territories of Christmas Island and Cocos Keeling Islands, the good news is there looks to be fine trade wind conditions and pleasant sailing as the fleet enter the Indian Ocean; after the Skipper Briefing participants enjoyed a Farewell Drink with nibbles at Secret Island Resort.

This morning under beautiful blue skies and light south easterly winds World ARC got underway on Leg 10. The 1175 NM route across the North East Indian Ocean will take in a 48 hour stopover at Christmas Island before finally arriving in Cocos Keeling Islands.

Start line operations were performed aboard the powerboats from Marina del Ray, World ARC's host during our stopover in Lombok, the first on the line was Aranui followed by Pretaixte and Cayuse.
