Campbell Conard competed in the 48th annual "Longest Sunfish Race in the World" on Saturday, July 14th — a 25-mile race around Shelter Island, starting at Southold Yacht Club.

Campbell finished the race in four hours and 46 minutes. Only 18 minutes behind the first-place finisher, and was the second sailor under 18 to complete the course. She placed 21st out of 34 boats and, as one race organizer pointed out, Campbell was sailing against seasoned (and nationally ranked) adult sailors.

A performance like this is only possible with stamina, grit, and a lot of racing know-how. We are honored to call her one of our own.
