At Marine Business World we believe it is important to give the boating industry news that may have an effect on the whole of the Australian economy. This week we report of a trade agreement made between Australia and Indonesia.

Australia and Indonesia have concluded an agreement that will create a new era of closer economic engagement between the two nations and open new markets and opportunities for businesses from both countries. The Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IA-CEPA) will drive growth for Australian business by creating new opportunities in Indonesia.

Stepping outside Australia again, Thailand's east coast has seen steady growth in the boating sector in recent years, bolstered by domestic interest in chartering and buying sailing yachts and motor craft, and supported by the region's key consumer event, the Ocean Marina Pattaya Boat Show, which is set to take place for the seventh time from 29 November to 2 December, 2018 at the award-winning Ocean Marina Yacht Club.

Locally, 23 Marina and Senior Managers from Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan and Singapore participated in the Sydney Marina & Boatyard Study Tour. Eleven marinas and boatyards in the Sydney Harbour and Pittwater hosted the group. They learnt about modern, innovative and technological advances in the industry.

Education is becoming a more prominent feature in the industry and this week Multihull Central and Pacific Sailing School hosted the first information session on sail training programs run onboard catamarans. Pacific Sailing School is one of Australia's longest established and most respected sailing schools, which is widely recognised internationally as the benchmark for sail training. Pacific Sailing School will deliver first class training, with their tried and tested program to be adopted for catamarans sourced by Multihull Central, utilising experienced and qualified catamaran skippers.

New products this week include the Simrad R5000 Series, a leap forward in commercial-grade radar solutions. Available in a range of configurations to meet the requirements for type-approved X- and S-Band radar systems aboard CAT 1 and CAT 2 SOLAS vessels, including high-speed craft, the Simrad R5000 radar's modular design makes it easy to create a single or multi-radar system for vessels of any size and type.

And anything that makes docking easier is worth a mention. The new, state-of-the art Dockmate® wireless remote-control system will allow a boater to easily operate single or twin engines, thrusters, anchor winch and horn from anywhere on board with a small handheld device. The Dockmate® is a wireless extension of a boat's controls and it has the exact same feeling and response time of the accessories mentioned above.

While we have now officially entered spring, it is still a bit chilly. So, take a look at some new Musto items. Transitional pieces created to offer exceptional warmth and comfort when you need it most. Styled to make a lasting impression.
