With the Brisbane Boat Show exhibition floor now at full capacity, anticipation is high with Queensland's most comprehensive recreational marine show opening on Friday at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre South Bank. Exhibitors from around the state and beyond, as well as local government agencies, are preparing for the thousands of visitors indulging in their love of all things boating.

On display is the Elliott Marine's Evo 660 trailer boat now available in Australia. It's designed with a modern, low-drag hull which results in improved fuel economy and excellent boat stability while still providing a smooth ride in most conditions. The secret to the boat's success is its application of high-performance racing yacht design to the powerboat. The Evo planes at 8 knots and is designed to perform with engines sizes ranging from 100hp to 150hp. The retractable hard top is an innovative feature with easy push button operation. When raised it allows the driver and passengers full standing head room, lowered wind drag on the water and when towing, along with making the boat easier to store. The hardtop is easily lowered to transform the cabin into a weather proof front sealed cockpit. Bosun's Locker is presenting the EVO 660 at the Brisbane Boat Show.

For lovers of the twin hull, Mackay's Reef Marine is presenting Seacat catamarans in various configurations at the Show, including the 636 Seacat Forward Console with hardtop, the 565 Seacat Forward Console, and the 565 Seacat Centre Console. These catamarans are considered to have an excellent layout with significant attention to detail and priced well in the market. Currently, Reef Marine is the sole distributor of Seacat in Australia. Because Seacats plane effectively with lower horsepower motors, they are more efficient to run, plus unlike other catamarans, Seacats are popular as they lean-in when turning, similar to a monohulled craft, unlike most other catamarans which lean out.

For those needing essential hardware, international award winning Savwinch is introducing their new SAV Sliding Ring anchors, available in both 6kg and 7.5kg, in both 316 Stainless Steel and Galvanised options. These anchors slide back from under a reef, preventing the anchor from getting caught. Savwinch is also famous for the world's first and only complete 316 Stainless Steel Winch, the SSS range. These are fully sealed 316 Stainless Steel motors that feature a full 316 Stainless Steel Gearbox. Historically, the Savwinch Classic Series has been around for over 10 years now and is recognised by some as the highest quality drum anchor winch worldwide. Having been installed on thousands of boats including charters, coast guard vessels, private users' boats, and even boats seen on popular fishing shows, many happy Savwinch users will be pleased to see the latest offers at the Show.

While the show is the best place to see boats and the best place to buy boats, the Boating Industry Association Ltd, who organise the event, also aims to entertain and educate at the show. With a commitment to safe boating, show organisers along with Maritime Safety Queensland have pulled together an excellent line up of government agencies to ensure visitors have the opportunity to better understand how to maximise their enjoyment on the water.

Along with Maritime Safety Queensland, agencies such as SEQ Water, Queensland Boating & Fisheries Patrol, Brisbane Water Police, Australian Volunteer Coast Guard, Queensland Parks & Wildlife, and the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority will all be at the Show to share information about how they keep our waterways safe and sustainable for the future.

Adult tickets to the Show are $15, Children $5 (under 5's are free), Family $35, Seniors & Pensioners $12. All tickets are $5 after 5pm (per person, door sales only. This offer excludes family tickets).

The popular fishing masterclasses are included with entry, as are the bumper boat rides for kids on the indoor 16 metre pool. The Show opens from 10AM each day.
