Wide-bodied multihulls are well-catered for at Australia's newest marine community, Wyndham Harbour on the north-western shores of Port Phillip.

Just 30 minutes' drive from the Melbourne CBD complete with a view of the iconic skyline, Wyndham Harbour is the only safe harbour between Williamstown and Geelong.

Stage one of the marina comprises 150-berths which will be expanded to 1,000 berths plus a dry storage facility, hardstands and a service yard and slipway over time.

There are luxury apartments and waterside residences, together with a restaurant precinct to suit every taste and preference. The marina can accommodate catamarans and trimarans up to 15m with a beam of up to 9m.

Word has already spread of the warm Wyndham welcome and multihulls are taking up the offer of short-term and long-term berthing with liveaboards most welcome.

"We have already hosted a couple of Lagoons and some Seawind cats," says Marina Manager, Darren Finkelstein. "They are impressed with the range of facilities and great location right in the heart of the Bay."

Wyndham Harbour is family-friendly, pet-friendly and offers 24/7 fuel.

"There's a spacious and well-maintained Marina Lounge, laundry and bathrooms with fresh towels each day and complimentary toiletries, free NBN wi-fi, Netflix and a great choice of cuisine: Ramae's Cafe and Lounge, Sam's Catch Fish N' Chippery and Ohana Pizza – all fully-licensed and fresh.

"And within 10 minutes' drive from the marina, you can visit Werribee Open Range Zoo, historic Werribee Mansion and Spa, Shadowfax Winery, golf courses, racecourses and much more.

"For visiting multihulls, whether they be 'grey nomads' exploring the coast, families circumnavigating the country or internationals calling in for a stint onshore, we have every amenity to make their stay a 'home away from home'," says Darren
