The sporty and adventurous Riviera 395 SUV displays a contemporary elegance, from her entirely new design with feature hull windows to European-inspired fabrics and cabinetry throughout.

She offers two generous staterooms and a large bathroom on the accommodation deck, a spacious saloon and an open cockpit perfectly designed for relaxing and entertaining or for a raft of water sports.

Riviera owner Rodney Longhurst said the 395 provides a compelling entree to the Riviera family.

"She offers exceptional boating opportunities," said Mr Longhurst. "She provides single-level entertaining that is in the DNA of our popular Sport Yacht collection with the go-anywhere attributes of our classic blue-water flybridge collection.

"The Riviera 395 SUV is a brilliant example of Riviera's evolution across our five collections."

Entertainers' and adventurers' cockpit

Stepping aboard from a fixed swim platform through a starboard transom door, the cockpit is an open space for entertaining with comfortable fixed and optional seating for a gathering of adults and is also the perfect platform for all manner of water sports.

A lift-up panel in the transom reveals a barbecue unit with electric grill, a sink and food preparation space with LED lighting set into the lid. The barbecue is accessed from the swim platform so the chef remains at the heart of the conversation and entertainment. Below the barbecue unit, a storage hatch hinges aft and is large enough to store a tender outboard, oars, fenders, lines and fishing rods.

While the barbecue is a centre for meal preparation, the family will gather for alfresco dining around a teak table with six inset drink holders on the forward port quarter of the cockpit. Seating is offered on a comfortable lounge of contemporary Sunbrella fabric under the awning window and there is plenty of space for occasional seating opposite. A cool box under the lounge can be optioned to become a refrigerator or freezer.

Additional cockpit seating is offered on cleverly designed optional fold-out seats recessed into the coaming on the port and starboard sides.

Cockpit entertainment is available through a Fusion radio and CD control panel above an icemaker in the starboard forward quarter. Speakers are set high on both port and starboard sides.

A storage or fish bin is built under the cockpit floor on the starboard side.

Access to the engine room is via a large hydraulic lift hatch that makes up most of the cockpit floor. Access for day-to-day inspections or maintenance is through a smaller hatch in the cockpit, immediately aft of the saloon door.

Raised bulwarks provide an additional level of security when moving forward or aft along the side decks.

Sunlovers will enjoy the foredeck with its optional large sunlounge in bright Sunbrella fabrics with integrated folding backrests and drink holders. The backrests can be set at a range of angles, from horizontal pillow to vertical observation seat.

Light and luxurious saloon

The finest American white oak timber panelling and cabinetry, skillfully paired with elegantly coloured Sunbrella fabrics, enhance the contemporary styling throughout the 395 SUV.

Riviera has chosen Sunbrella fabrics throughout the 395 SUV to provide a range of exciting contemporary colour and style options as well as the proven Sunbrella performance in the marine environment. Sunbrella fabrics have also been developed to withstand almost any on-board mishap - including red wine spills.

In the light and airy saloon, the aft galley on the starboard side includes an electric cooktop, sink and food preparation benchtop, under-bench convection microwave and two deep drawer fridges as well as ample storage drawers and cabinets, all with positive locking hardware. Two double power points with USB sockets are fitted in the galley area.

The dining area, with L-shape seating, is on the port side opposite the galley, offering sweeping views through the wrap-around windows, windscreen and aft through the glass bulkhead door and awning window.

Forward, a leather twin helm-and-companion seat on the port side faces a helm with leather sports wheel, twin engine controls and an IPS joystick outboard, two large navigation screens, CZone digital switch control panel, air conditioning vents and drink holders.

A supple lounge opposite the helm provides views forward and allows the owners and guests to interact while under way. A lift-up television is positioned forward of the lounge, making it viewable from within the saloon and from the cockpit. Entertainment can also be provided through the radio and CD sound system with iPod interface. A double power point with USB socket is strategically placed here.

The tinted-glass bulkhead between saloon and cockpit is made up of a fixed window behind the galley, an outward-opening stainless steel framed glass centre door and awning window on the port side behind the lounge.

Hardtop sunroof hatches above the helm and forward lounge slide back to provide even more light and air.

Abundant accommodation

The lower deck provides sleeping accommodation in comfort for five adults in two staterooms.

The master stateroom forward - bathed in light from hull windows on both sides - includes a queen-size walk-around double bed, a wardrobe on the port side aft quarter as well as overhead lockers and shelving for personal items on both sides. Reading lights are set into either side of the headboard. A double power point includes a USB socket. Additional light and fresh air comes through an aft-hinging deck hatch with insect screen and blind.

The stateroom has ensuite access to the bathroom.

Stepping down to the large and light midships stateroom reveals full length twin beds athwartships to starboard and a single bed set along the port side. The twin beds can be converted with an infill into a large double bed. A hanging wardrobe is at the entry. This stateroom is also equipped with double power point and USB socket.

Ample storage is available under the twin beds and a clever two-metre-long storage cabinet is overhead, above the port bed, suitable for rod or lifejacket storage. Light is provided by sweeping hull windows, equipped on both sides with opening portholes.

The large bathroom includes a vanity, toilet and separate shower stall with a frameless glass door. The bathroom is bathed in light and fresh air through a large hull window and an opening deck hatch. A double power point is placed discretely inside an overhead cabinet.

With two-way access, the bathroom can be utilised as the master ensuite and as a day head.

Power at your fingertips

Power for the 395 SUV comes from twin Volvo Penta D6 IPS 500 turbo diesel engines providing 272kw (370hp) of power with IPS 10 pod drive units.

The proven performance of IPS offers excellent power-to-weight ratio, spirited performance, enhanced torque, improved fuel efficiency, simple slow-speed joystick maneuverability and whisper-quiet operation thanks to under-water exhausts. The system includes electronic variable rate steering and electronic controls. The drive units are protected by the Volvo Penta Active Corrosion Protection System to complement sacrificial anodes and line cutters.

The reassurance of Riviera provides that all Volvo Penta systems, drives, engines and electronics are covered by an industry-leading five-year limited warranty to complement Riviera's structural five-year limited warranty.
