The U.S. Melges 24 Class Association (USM24CA) is supercharged about the forthcoming U.S. National Championship, title sponsored by Diversified and organized by The San Francisco Yacht Club in Belvedere, CA taking place on September 7-9, 2018.

Three days of highly-competitive racing on San Francisco Bay is scheduled with the entry list building fast.

"Diversified proudly supports the "best-in-class" sailing and the Melges 24 Class, just as we provide the "best-in-class" technology solutions globally. Diversified is proud be the title sponsor of the 2018 Melges 24 U.S. National Championship," says Anthony Cuellar, Senior Vice President, Global Marketing.

The Melges 24 Class is no stranger to San Francisco Bay, having conducted numerous National and World Championship events in the area.

"The San Francisco Yacht Club and California Melges 24 fleet is thrilled to host the 2018 Diversified Melges 24 National Championship," says Duane Yoslov, a stalwart Melges 24 owner and West Coast District Governor for the USM24CA. "The legendary, reliable big breeze of the Bay is in full swing and will not disappoint come September. The sailing is epic this time of year on the Bay as the fog backs away a little, but the breeze is bigger than ever. Team Looper is stoked!!"

The West Coast fleet has also put a lot of work into creating a 3-day regatta "Cal Cup" as a solid warmup for the Diversified National Championship held on the same race course about two weeks prior (August 17-19). It will serve as the perfect Pre-Nationals opportunity to fine-tune the boat, the team and get well-acclimated to bay racing conditions and demands.

Melges 24 teams planning to attend need to register now. The official entry deadline is Wednesday, September 5. Those who anticipate racing as Corinthians need to register with the USM24CA by Monday, September 3.
