"The best distance-to-line tool ever", the Velocitek ProStart boasts; compact, distraction-free and easy-to-use.

Velocitek – a leading performance sailing company – have created a device that is truly unique. The ProStart, suitable for dinghy's and sports boats, is the result of customer feedback that demanded a straightforward, dedicated 'distance to line' device. Consequently, the 'distance to line' measurement is displayed on the digital interface in metres, updating twice a second, and depicted in large numbers that are easy to read at a quick glance.

This is an advantage over devices, such as the Raymarine 'Wireless Race Master', which doesn't prioritise 'distance to line'.

In addition, the revolutionary race and training computer from Velocitek exhibits further key features that will boost results. A necessity for competitive sailors, GPS data logging records accurate real-time, on-the-water data, curating a 30-hour log of variables such as speed, heading and position. This data can be viewed, alongside race animations, on a computer after sailing.

Endorsed by Sailing World as "possibly the greatest electronic racing gadget of this decade", Velocitek have crafted a responsive tool that is also unparalleled for optimizing speed: the session's maximum speed is recalled, as well as – with the click of a single, large button – the best 10 second average speeds. The device also details the influence of current, allowing the sailor to interpret how favourable a new current is, for example.

To facilitate the best possible start to a race, the front surface depicts the three most important buttons: the pin, boat and gun buttons. As you sail past the committee boat, simply touch the 'boat' button, subsequently pressing the 'pin' button as you move past the pin end of the line. The 'gun' button is used to initiate or sync the countdown timer. This can be independently adjusted if there has been a mistake. Velocitek have also ensured all buttons are large enough to locate in the midst of the chaos - as well as easy to press with gloves on - allowing crew to focus on external conditions.

Further, additional features of the Velocitek ProStart include: a 15-hour battery life, waterproofing to the highest industrial standard and a 'race mode', which indicates heading, speed and wind shift.
