Befoil 16 (4.9mtr) is a simple and accessible foiling catamaran designed by VPLP especially for sailing schools and beginners.

Built from components by various French suppliers, Befoil 16 is claimed to be a perfect boat for those new to foiling - being claimed to be stable, simple to manoeuvre and safe.

It is made of low-cost recyclable materials such as aluminium and thermoplastic allowing Magnard Innovation to keep a competitive price.

Befoil 16 is a hybrid boat - when there is little wind, you can switch your foils with standard daggerboards and go sailing.

Aimed at sailing schools the Befoil16 allows a double-use as a displacement multihull and a foiler. The 16ft catamaran can be sailed solo with an experienced sailor, or two-up.

Additional righting moment is provided by hiking racks either side of the 16fter.

Benjamin Magnard (founder of Befoil) explains the Befoil 16 concept: "So many people dream of flying over the water, but so few could, until now. Our goal is to make everyone feel these incredible sensations - like flying on a magic carpet - by equipping maximum of sailing schools with our boats."

The Befoil 16 will be available for sailing in Lorient and Marseille in France from July.

The launch price is €14.990 without tax.
