2018 is certainly a positive year for the Australian industry with the industry coming together on the Gold Coast to showcase the excellence, quality, capability and expertise that exists in the Australian marine sector.

The City of Gold Coast once again supported the Inwards Global Stakeholder Program creating invaluable opportunities for Gold Coast based marine industry businesses at the 2018 ASMEX Conference.

The generous contribution from the City of Gold Coast towards this initiative allowed international marine industry leaders to visit the Gold Coast during the ASMEX Conference (21st– 23rd May, 2018) and the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (24th – 27th May, 2018).

Australia has a global reputation for quality and innovation with many Gold Coast companies having strong global brands, winning national and international awards and securing business in many regions across the globe. With the support of the City of Gold Coast it allowed for opportunities for local industry to connect with major international stakeholders brought in by AIMEX for a significant week of activity including the ASMEX conference and the Sanctuary Cove International Boat show. A perfect platform for alliances and connections to be made.

MaryAnne Edwards, Director of AIMEX said "The contribution from the City of Gold Coast is valuable for Gold Coast companies as this initiative creates limitless opportunities for marine industry businesses based in the Gold Coast, allowing them to engage with international players resulting in the formation of valuable relationships and potential sales."

Brett James, GM of Southport Yacht Club commented on the opportunity "After meeting US Superyacht Association President, Kitty McGowan at the 2017 Fort Lauderdale Boat Show last year, both myself and Waterfront Manager Mark Riddell have received excellent information moving forward regarding the forecast of potential Superyacht activity within the South East Queensland Region, predominantly targeting Gold Coast and Southport Yacht Club. Kitty shared her educational superyacht knowledge as guest speaker at the recent Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show Super Yacht Conference, both Mark and I again found this very informative, as so did many other industry professionals. Mark and I look forward to meeting with Kitty again later this year at the 2018 Fort Lauderdale Boat Show."

All information surrounding the conference can be found on the ASMEX website.
