When and and on which race course will be the start for my boat class? How is the weather forecast for today's race day? How are the results in my class? Is there are jury protest against my boat or in my class? How is the supporting programme in Kiel Schilksee for this evening?

These questions before the first start and after returning ashore are relevant for the active sailors. At this year's Kiel Week (16. until 24. June), they can for the first time find quick answers in the Kiel Week App.

"We would like to make the App to become a reliable partner of the sailors. We provide binding information about the events, programs, flag signals as well as jury protests etc. And everything personalised for the sailor", explained the Head of Organisation of the Kiel Week Regattas Dirk Ramhorst the new development, that is supposed to replace having to walk to the blackboard or the flagpole thanks to the partnership with Accenture. The App is a smartphone optimized website, so that the link has to be entered or scanned via the QR code.

Further information for the race committee and press are planned. And contact and feedback functionalities shall also be made possible. Whether these features will already work this year, is not sure yet. "We are working at full blast and also depend on the feedback, what else is being wished for", said Regatta Clerk Felix Weidling.
