The Cruising Club of America and the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club have assembled an extraordinary collection of permanent trophies over the years.
The most famous are the "Lighthouse Trophies" for overall division winners of the St. David's and Gibbs Hill divisions. And the Carleton A. Mitchell Trophy goes to the winner in the Finisterre Division. Competitors sign up to compete for these and many other trophies by virtue of entering the race, but it's important to note that they must separately register to compete for certain "special trophies."
Examples are the special prizes for top youth crews (the Stephens Brothers Youth Prize), top family crews (Glenn Family Prize), best foreign entry (City of Newport Prize), and Irving Pratt three-boat Team prize.
