Patrizio Facheris and I set out to create a sedan series that retained all the benefits of a blue water semi-displacement, diesel shaft drive, keeled hull with walk around decks yet totally re-imagine the interior layout, finishes and design to give an open, clean and spacious feel and look. We incorporated owner feedback regarding additional galley storage and systems, opening the indoors to the cockpit, easy access straight stair access to the cabins and a Master Suite with full-width features.

The result is a sedan motor yacht with combined features and styling never seen before in the Australian or global marketplace. Facheris Design has transformed the interiors to have a combination of grey lime washed oak cabinetry, stone benchtops and Diamante soft wall furnishings throughout the saloon and cabins on all vertical surfaces, elegantly combined with detailed accents of the grey oak. Furniture and cabinetry is clean, modular and sleek while the 540's huge spaces allows for an open and light feel while incorporating all the must haves in this size vessel.

Many of the features you would expect on a 65 footer are standard on the 540. A clever transom access door from the swim platform allows for ease of ingress into the enormous lazarette and engine room, rather than climbing down through a ladder in the cockpit. The extended cockpit area boasts a full sedan roof overhang to provide shade while incorporating a massive rear L shaped cockpit lounge and folding teak hand laid dining table. The galley flows in from the cockpit on the same level and the clever rear opening door and window design means the entire galley area opens to the outdoors. Our social design also adds an outdoor stone countertop overhang and stainless bar stools for those who want to pull up for a cocktail or breakfast at the galley.

As you move inside the galley it's obvious the attention to detail we have focused on for our owners. A new Webasto 320 litre full height stainless fridge with twin drawer freezers for all your storage needs right next to a superb 1.80m high pull out stainless pantry with non-slip trays that conveniently slides away flush. We even added some feature wine bottle holders inside the rear saloon door. The oversized galley is fitted with Bosch slimline dishwasher, convection oven, Webasto clear ice icemaker and a separate microwave oven with a 4 burner cooktop. The galleys design is finished off with a full complement of Blum kitchen storage systems through the drawers and cupboards specifically for cutlery, crockery, mugs and condiments. The drawer and cupboards are finished with soft close doors.

Only one step up to the lounge, dinette and lower helm area between the forward driving position and the rear of the cockpit means passage through the top floor of the boat is effortless. The large dinette has a folding dining table and sits opposite a two seater lounge with an electric pop up 40 inch Smart HD TV behind it. The windows in the saloon are opening with screens and to starboard there is a full size door out to the side decks at the lower helm. A Webasto 40 series electric sunroof is standard and includes insect screen and blackout shade.

The Facheris Design signature lower helm layout controls the twin Cummins 550 HP diesels along with hydraulic bow and stern thrusters, anchor winch and fin stabilisation. The drive is smooth and quiet with twin power assisted pumps at the helm for effortless control.

The cabin layout boasts a Master Cabin fit for a 6 star hotel and belies the size of the vessel incorporating the twin vanity sink arrangement behind the Master Bed bulkhead, this layout maximises space and light and offers a perfect view out of the 6 hull side portholes on both side to the water at your favourite anchorage. A two seat sofa to port and vanity with folding stool on the starboard side compliment the design while we have designed in separate shower and toilet room for ultimate privacy. This stateroom would be what you would expect on a 65 foot yacht for space and layout.

The VIP guest cabin to port offer a Queen size bed, hanging lockers and becomes an excellent cabin for a second couple as guests onboard. Forward is a clever kids cabin with 2 metre long bunks in an over and under design combining hanging locker storage as well, both guest cabins are serviced with a second bathroom featuring a full stand up shower and separate toilet.

Performance of the new 540 gives you up to 19 knots in sprint speed with the twin 550's and is equally at home cruising at 8 knots or 16 with minimal bow rise and a super quiet and stable ride.

At last you can have all the features of an ocean going semi-displacement cruiser with the finish, design and feel of a European Sports cruiser, combined with amazing living and entertaining spaces.

The first of the new 540's is on her way now to Brisbane and will be custom painted on her hull in a gunmetal grey finish which will complete the overall package to showcase a spectacular new range of motor yacht sedans by Clipper.
