US Sailing and the U.S. Team Racing Championship committee has instituted a series of qualifying regattas for the 2018 U.S. Team Racing Championship, hosted by The Foundry in Cleveland, Ohio on September 27-30.

These qualifying events will be in addition to the traditional resume application process for entry into the U.S. Team Racing Championship for the Hinman Trophy. The resume application opens on June 8, 2018.

These following events are designated as qualifying regattas for the 2018 U.S. Team Racing Championship:

With a focus on supporting and growing team racing across the United States and abroad, US Sailing plans to expand the scope of qualifying events to include a West Coast event and other regattas from regions around in the country over the next three years. The revised process includes both resume and qualifier applications giving team racers multiple pathways to make the cut.

US Sailing hopes to encourage team continuity and boost event participation while preserving the U.S. Team Racing Championship as one of the most competitive and fun team racing regattas in the world.

The 2018 U.S. Team Racing Championship will be sailed in the Zim 420E. This US Sailing National Championship is sponsored by Gill North America and Hobie Polarized.
