Sweet sou’easter sees sailors head offshore at Sail Port Stephens

by Nic Douglass 11 Apr 2018 16:01 AEST 9-15 April 2018

Day two of the Commodore's Cup at Sail Port Stephens did not disappoint with all 87 yachts heading upwind and offshore in a sweet little sou'easter.

As they turned left out of the heads and and set their spinnakers to head north, I was lucky enough to witness the colourful parade of boats ranging in size from 22 to 61 feet. Just gorgeous with the landscape of the area in the back and foreground.

A large triangular course in the Bay today in 15 knots of nor'easter will no doubt deliver again for the final day of the Commodore's Cup before the IRC, Super 12s and Sports Boats join in on Friday.
