The fleet will come from all parts of Europe with big fleets expected from a number of countries. To add some international flavour we have also had interest from Australia, New Zealand and the USA. All are keen to test the competition before the 2019 WASZP Games in Perth Australia.

WASZP Games 2019 Perth - January 22nd - 28th

Excitement is building towards the second International WASZP Games to be held at Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club in Perth, Western Australia.

The key areas WASZP wanted to address in our search for an appropriate venue are, world class race track, social, fun and wind. RFBYC ticked all the boxes!

The fantastic clubhouse that will allow for some stadium style racing, the open expanses of Melville water on the Swan River will provide an ideal location for an International Championship to be conducted.

The race management understands the WASZPs needs to explore other racing formats like Slalom and GPS racing. Being nestled about halfway between Fremantle and the City, as well as having the world-famous Cottesloe beach just behind where the club sits means it is the ideal place for visitors to experience WA.

Perth now with an established fleet (20), it is the perfect time to head to Western Australia to unleash the WASZP on flat water and the hot summer sea-breezes that appear at 20knots like clockwork.

Australia now has around 80 boats and envisage that over 100 WASZPs will be sailing around the country by January 2019. This compliments the fact there are now 580 boats now shipped around the world only 20 months after production began.

We expect containers of boats from the UK, Europe, USA and New Zealand to join the Aussie fleet culminating in a fleet of well over 100 boats and sailors.

We will be working with your local agents to make sure we have an appropriate shipping plan in place to get the maximum amount of boats possible. Please begin thinking about this and working on a plan with either your agent or local group of WASZPs.

Visit waszp.com/events for more information regarding shipping and accommodation options. You can also visit RFBYC page for documentation and entries.

The WASZP Worldwide

It has been an incredibly busy end to the Southern Hemisphere season followed by a busy start to the Northern Hemisphere season.

As Europe and North America begin to wake up after a long winter we have seen 3 containers shipped to the USA, Norway and Italy in readiness for the up-coming season.

The Italian container will arrive just prior to the WASZP European Championships. If you would like to buy a boat, pick it up on-site at Malcesine before the event and have access to all the best WASZP sailors in Europe/World to help you through the initial process then secure your boat today - contact

We are now over 600 boats ordered worldwide and around 580 shipped, the demand is increasing and the class is going from strength to strength. There is no better time to get involved in the WASZP Class.
