Volvo OR: Simon Fisher updates from Vestas 11th Hour

Vestas 11th Hour navigator Simon Fisher (GBR) gives a brief update from the Falklands on the team's preparations to get the boat to the mainland.

Meanwhile, Mark Towill and Charlie Enright are en route to Itajaí to continue to work on the logistics to get the boat ready for Leg 8.

The team is hopeful of getting the boat to Itajai in Brazil and repaired to be ready for the start of Leg 8 on April 22.

With two of the boats suffering mast damage and a third, Turn the Tide on Plastics sailing carefully to finish Leg 7, spare rigs could be at a premium in Itajai. Fortunately all boats were fitted with new rigs for this edition of the Volvo Ocean Race, so there are spare spars available. Getting the required number of spars to Itajai will ask a few questions of the Volvo OR and team logistics managers.
