Online entries for the 56th Hamble Warming Pan, on 24th & 25th March, are already over 20 boats and rising. Nine Merlin Rockets have already entered for their Silver Tiller round at HRSC and 8 RS Aeros are in too. The RS Aero, Blaze, Finn and Scorpion fleets will have class starts for the first time this year alongside the Merlin, National 12 and Foxer regulars.

The Beast from the East 2 has long since drifted away and the forecast for the weekend looks favourable with 9-15 kts of breeze from a northerly direction on the Saturday and 8-11 kts from the West on Sunday. Racing takes place on the Hamble River between the Public Jetty at Hamble and Hamble Point buoy during the 4 hour high water stand. The sight of racing dinghies and their colourful spinnakers charging up and down the Hamble is always great fun and there are a number of good vantage points on both sides of the river.

Racing starts at 11.00 pm on the Saturday with a 10.15 briefing at HRSC. Hot food and beverages will be available on shore all weekend.

Early, money saving entry, can be found at www.hrsc.org.uk/event/204155 although you may already be too late to save much now.

The Notice of Race can be found at www.hrsc.org.uk/sailing/warming-pan-regatta
