The Trofeo Princesa Sofía Iberostar renews the support of Iberostar hotel group as main sponsor. The Olympic classes, one design and ORC regatta that will bring together around 1000 sailors in the bay of Palma from 30th March to 7th April, also has the support of companies Trasmediterránea, Squid, Europcar and Marine Pool as collaborators in its 49th edition, just one year away from its golden anniversary.

Iberostar will be the event's sponsoring company for fourth consecutive year. The support of the Mallorca hotel company has contributed to maintaining a high level in the regatta and has given continuity to an event that will celebrate half a century of existence in 2019. In accordance to Ferran Muniesa, race manager, "the fact of having a sponsor such as Iberostar gives the organisers reassurance and we are very proud to join the touristic promotion of Mallorca by sharing the same values of constant improvement and excellence".

Marine Pool starts its second year as the event's official sportswear provider. Andy Dinsdale, Commercial manager has assured "to be very pleased" with the relationship engaged with the regatta and Club Nàutic Arenal because – in his own words - "they are making a great task representing the brand in Mallorca". Dinsdale has added that the German sportswear brand will supply 500 pieces of clothing for staff and volunteers as well as backpacks and laptop covers as gifts for sailors, coaches and guests.

Europcar joins the Sofía Iberostar this year for the first time. It offers discounts in car rental for all teams and it is also the official vehicle supplier for the Organisation. Tobías Zisik, Europcar Iberia Commercial manager, has pointed out that the company "is deeply satisfied to become part of this well-known and big event" with which they share "not only the passion for leadership but also the spirit of the sport".

Squid, the app from GreatCircle, will be the provider of the weather forecast for second consecutive year. The company offers its services to round the world races such as the Vendée Globe and the Volvo Ocean Race, among others, and in 2017 it made its first steps in Olympic sailing contributing with their forecast experience to the Sofía Iberostar.

As far as transport is concerned, teams travelling to Mallorca will count once again with the discount fares and advantages offered by Trasmediterránea. The ferry company began its collaboration with the Sofía Iberostar in 2014 and over these years its fleet has accommodated over 6000 sailors and coaches and around 5000 team vans and trailers heading to the Mallorca regatta.

The 49 Trofeo Princesa Sofía Iberostar has the invaluable support of the Balearic Islands Government through the Balearic Tourism Agency, Palma and Llucmajor City Council and Baleares Ports Authority.

The Sofía Iberostar, organised by Club Nàutic S'Arenal, Club Marítimo San Antonio de la Playa, Real Club Náutico de Palma and the Balearic and Spanish Sailing Federations, is the first major event of the European sailing season. The organisation expects to welcome over 800 boats and more that 1000 sailors from 50 nations. The event will start on March 30th for ORC and One design classes while the first start for Olympic classes in the bay of Palma will be made on Monday, 2nd April.

Racing is scheduled until Saturday, 7th April when the top classified in each class will sail the Medal Race which will crown the winner in each category as well as the 49 th Trofeo Princesa Sofia Iberostar overall winner.
