Allen Brothers, the UK manufacturer of sailboat hardware, has announced they will now be supplying a beefed up Laser Vang Key as standard with no extra price increase.

Sailing is a sport that relies on progression and sailors are always demanding the best from their hardware by pushing it to the limits. Now more than ever, the standard Laser Vang Key just can't stand up to the punishment that the top Laser sailors are dealing out. With failures accruing due to higher loads being applied to the Vang, thanks to stronger blocks and rope, Allen has decided to upgrade and supply a new thicker, stronger and more reliable Vang Key as standard.

Managing director of Allen Brothers, Liz Adams, said "The new Vang Key will give Laser sailors back their confidence, allowing them to concentrate on the more meaningful task at hand, rather than worrying about blowing out the Vang and having to make a quick in-race substitute. As standard, the Allen Vang Key will be thickened up and use more material to make it stronger, at no extra cost to the user! Our blocks are more than capable of holding up to the working loads of the Laser so it seems only fair that we make sure all parts of the boat can keep up. As well as the price staying the same the new stronger Vang Key will also still fit with all existing parts of the Laser Vang system, including the boom strap."
