Entries to arguably the world's most breathtaking sailing rally are open with registrations filling fast for the 2018 Tahiti Pearl Regatta in May.

The event, which is sponsored by Multihull Solutions, is staged from 7-12 ay and held on the stunning waterways of French Polynesia.

Launched in 2004, the Tahiti Pearl Regatta attracts large contingents of crews from around the region and across the world each year. The event features an inter-island route around the spectacular and diverse Sous-le-Vent islands providing participants with a different destination each evening. The itinerary incorporates unforgettable nightly themed social events, including a village race, nautical parade, beach tournament, traditional dance performances and fire twirlers, dancing, costume parties and more.

The unique regatta delivers an authentic and warm experience of the Polynesia lifestyle while showcasing the incredible sailing available around the islands of Raiatea (also the Island of Sailing) and Taha'a, and Bora Bora or Huahine.

The regatta is open to all classes of sailing boats, including monohulls, multihulls, private or charter boats, without any size limitations. The event is governed by WS racing rules, which makes it accessible and enjoyable for both novice and experienced sailors alike.

Race categories include Racing Monohulls (two divisions), Racing Multihulls, Cruising, and a Corporate Challenge that caters for companies and sponsored boats. Individuals are also invited to participate, with the organisers matching crew with registered boats.
