Southport Yacht Club (SYC) will become a buzz of action during the 12-day international event, with multiple events planned daily at the Main Beach Clubhouse during the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

SYC, along with the Southport Chamber of Commerce, will host several events throughout the games, including dinner celebrations for both the Opening and Closing Ceremonies on Wednesday 4th and Sunday 15th April. All events are open to Club Members, guests, visitors and members of the Gold Coast Community.

An exclusive Networking Event is scheduled for Tuesday 10th April in the Club's Compass Room overlooking the shimmering lights of the Gold Coast Broadwater and private 300 berth marina. This is a fantastic opportunity for local, domestic and international businesses to meet and discuss potential growth and communications throughout the games along with the potential future growth of the Gold Coast.

"We wanted to ensure SYC was a central hub of action and events during the Commonwealth Games, unfortunately sailing is not a Games sport during 2018, however with SYC being such an integral venue to the Gold Coast we found it imperative to celebrate such a phenomenal event," said General Manager, Brett James.

"I believe the impact of this wonderful sporting event will put the Gold Coast on the World stage for both tourism and business operations, we are extremely excited to be a part of such a spectacular event", Brett added.

Another occasion not to be missed is the opportunity to showcase the Gold Coast Real Estate Market to national and international investors with a two-day real estate exhibition. Minimal exhibitor places remain during the event to be held on Sunday 8th and Monday 9th April, for expressions of interest please call Brett Holdway via 0409 654 993.

Radio broadcasting will be held live from the Club with daily athlete interviews throughout the morning, day and afternoon drives. Announcers include Alan Jones, Ray Hadley (2GB & 4BC), Ben David (4BC), Steve & Basil (6PR) and Tom Elliot (3AW).

The Club's multi award-winning Waterfront Restaurant has extended trading hours from 7am to late providing breakfast, lunch and dinner options daily. Open to all Members, Guest and Visitors. Restaurant bookings are recommended to ensure you don't miss out over this business period. Call once of our friendly team members today via 07 5591 3500.

On-water activities have not been missed, with several domestic and international Superyacht's visiting the Club's 300 berth private marina throughout the games, estimating hundreds of thousands to the Gold Coast economy.

Southport Yacht Club will be open each and every day to Club Members and the public.
