It's the age-old question for anyone who's ever owned or managed a racing yacht. Where can I find enough crew to race on a regular basis?

The crewing challenge effects many facets of our sport. Trouble finding crew has led to declining fleet numbers, and puts stress on the yacht owner or crew manager responsible to ensure a full race team is available to sail each week.

MySail has taken on the challenge of solving this crew issue for yachts across Australia, as well as helping keen sailors find their next, or first, crewing position.

This is the first of a weekly crewing update from MySail, in partnership with Sail-World Australia. Here we will look at all things crewing, and provide an update on some of the latest crew positions available across the country.

Next Moment - Williamstown, VIC

X-yacht 442, 44.2 foot, RYCV

Next Moment is an x-442 luxury racing cruiser, fast and strong, well fitted out and properly maintained. The yacht is based at the Royal Yacht Club of Victoria in Williamstown.

Next Moment's current scheduled program includes the major Bay Regattas, Club Marine Bay Series, Wednesday Twilights during daylight saving and most Saturday races during summer and winter. They also intend to do some cruising and participate in the 2019 Hamilton Island racing program.

Olympia - Crawley, WA

Farr 1104, 36 foot, RPYC

After too many years as a cruiser, Olympia is being returned to her former glory as a competitive racer. Currently sailing Wednesday JAM Div B and Swan River Retro Yacht Series in Div 1, and working towards racing Div 1 on Summer Saturdays.

Olympia is looking for crew to do bow, headsail trim and main trim for Wednesday Summer Series at RPYC and the Swan River Retro Yacht Series.

Jazzamatazz - Newport, NSW

J112, 40 foot, RPAYC

Jazzamatazz is a gorgeous 40 foot J112 that sails out of the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club in Newport, NSW.

They race every Thursday night out of RPAYC and looking for crew to join them for as many of these races as possible. Meeting 5pm. Series runs until the end of March.
