Javier Torres del Moral describes himself as having been a pretty average sailor, but his efforts as a coach are not in dispute. In 2016, the Spaniard mentored Brazilian duo Martine Grael and Kahena Kunze to an emotional Olympic gold medal, which sent the host nation into raptures.

Now Torres has turned his focus to Australian Sailing, where he will work closely with the nation's top 49erFX sailors, including Amelia Stabback and Ella Clark.
