RYA Push The Boat Out at Llandegfedd Sailing Club

by Andy Howard 20 May 2015 17:31 AEST 16 May 2015

"Thank you for re-initiating my sailing experience and for the very enjoyable time on the water on Saturday." Kelvin Oatridge

"Thanks again for a fantastic day, the kids loved it which was what I hoped to achieve." Julia Aldous

"Thank you very much for your time and effort on Saturday. I will be joining now as a family member. I am very keen to encourage my daughters to sail and spend more time on the water myself." Owen Lewis

Just some of the comments on a successful day at Llandegfedd. A total of 30 people were taken out in three 2000s for Sailing Taster sessions. The mix was equally adults and children, with some of the adults returning to sailing after a long time away.

Llandegfedd Sailing club is hoping that a few of those who sailed on Saturday will join the club and help expand our fleet of sailors. It is now a superb site for sailing; fresh, deep water in quiet rural surroundings, topped off with a comfortable Watersports Centre. There is also a Visitors' Centre on site where one can have a meal and look at the glorious view.

The club is now planning how to support the returning sailors and their children to bring them up to speed and sailing during the summer.
