Fernhurst Books for ISAF Emerging Nations Programme

by Jeremy Atkins, Fernhurst Books 6 May 2015 03:02 PDT 6 May 2015

After a recommendation by the International Laser Class Association (ILCA), Jon Emmett's Coach Yourself to Win (part of Fernhurst Books' Sail to Win series) is being used by the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) as a training resource for the 5 regional 'performance clinics' of the 2015 Youth World Emerging Nations Program (ENP).

Fernhurst Books' Director, Jeremy Atkins, said: "To be selected by ISAF in this way is fantastic news and a strong endorsement of our re-launch of the iconic Sail to Win series. Many of today's top sailors grew up with the original series and it is great to know that the next generation will be helped and guided by the series in its new lease of life."

The re-launch took place earlier this year at the RYA Suzuki Dinghy Show in February with two titles:

Watch a video of the launch here and see Nick talk about his book, plus London 2012 gold medallist, Lijia Xu, explain how Jon's book put her on the path to win at the Olympics.

These two books have been flying off the shelves as sailors seek to learn from the two expert and successful authors:

  • UK sailing's Champion of Champions, Nick Craig, proves that anyone can work their way to the top with enough hard work and dedication
  • Gold medal winning coach and multiple championship winner, Jon Emmett, takes you through the 12 fundamental elements of successful racing
Between the two of them, they have won a staggering 12 World, 11 European and 34 National Championship titles!

These books will encourage you not just to sail... but sail to win!

Fernhurst Books is actively working on more titles in the series:

  • Ian Pinnell has just completed the first draft of Tuning to Win, which is packed with expert advice from the master sailor and multiple championship winner.
  • A new book, Tactics to Win, is currently being written.
Along with the Sail to Win series, Fernhurst Books publish over 150 books and eBooks covering racing, cruising and a variety of other nautical subjects.

www.fernhurstbooks.com lists all the books and eBooks available. On the site you can also find videos and other resources to bring the books to life, as well as being able to register to receive news, details of new titles and exclusive special offers.

All the books can be bought direct from www.fernhurstbooks.com, and can be found in all good bookshops, book websites and chandleries.
