The Shearwater fleet arrived at Stone S.C with 12 boats for the first TT of the season.

Saturday morning saw the final last minute preparations after the winter break, with each boat in true Shearwater fashion helping out each other to get everyone on the water for the 12:30 start. Helms and crews were reunited, and in quite a few cases new helms with new crews united. Helms and crews tentatively put themselves & their boats into the wet stuff to do battle once again. Everyone was itching to see the fruition of their own maintenance programs during the winter. Special mention to the Wiseman clan as "Caned & Unable" who looked resplendent in her new livery.

The weekend's weather was a mixed bag, ideal for blowing the cobwebs away. Saturday handed out good strong gusts with some epic flat water reaches while Sunday's conditions tested the grey matter and choice of sailing attire to battle against the COLD but lighter NW winds. There were a number of different winners over the course of the weekend which certainly set the tone for the rest of the season, with new masts, new crews, new helms and lots of new sails, it is certain that the enthusiasm in the fleet for competitive racing is still as strong as it ever has been.

After many fearsome battles throughout the fleet over 6 races; the results were as follows. In 3rd Greg Wilcox and William Stuart (H. & St L's S.C & Mengeham S.C), 2nd Alan Howland and Rob Britton (RYA), and in 1st place Roger Crooks and Anna Allen (Stone S.C).

A huge thank you has to go Stone Sailing Club for being such fantastic hosts. Looking forward to seeing you again in August for the Shearwater Nationals 2015.
