Get a taste for sailing at Greensforge Sailing Club

by David Watkins 9 Feb 2015 04:24 HKT 28 March 2015

Once again Greensforge Sailing Club, at Gailey, is hosting an early season chance to get a taste for sailing and to try the sport for FREE on Saturday 28th March!

However this year there will be a chance to also use our two brand new training boats which Greensforge have recently took delivery of, they are part of the clubs on going investment in training and development and have been funded by Sport England and National Lottery.

Greensforge, which is an official RYA Training Centre meaning it conforms to the highest standards of quality and safety, is inviting anyone interested in signing up for the club's full Start Sailing course, which gets underway in June and July to go along and meet the training team.

Greensforge RYA Start Sailing will run initially over two full Saturdays plus one Sunday morning session, tying in with its new, instructor-supported newcomers race which plans to take place every Sunday morning throughout the summer series.

To take advantage of this free taster, all you will need is some old trainers and a towel - the club will supply buoyancy aids. Refreshments will be available.

Greensforge RYA Start Sailing is designed to introduce people to the basics and give them the best first experience in the sport, while also providing opportunities for people to then stay involved and keep improving their skills at friendly, welcoming sailing clubs such as Greensforge.

More open days are planned and there will also be our Push the Boat out open day on Saturday 9th May.
