Another day in the Brazilian Championship leaves Ocean Pact and Crioula as winners of today, approaching the leader of the overall, Eduardo de Souza Ramos' Pajero. The competition will come to its end tomorrow with the last races of the event.
Today the Committee decided to wait to start the races because of the decreasing wind. After some time, the first race started with an established wind at 160º and a speed of 10 knots. The "Ocean Pact" achieved the first victory, followed by "Pajero" in second place, "Crioula" in third place, and "Carioca" being the last to cross the finish line.
The victory of the second race was to the Brazilian "Crioula", a result that helped them to get closer to first position overall, followed by the "Ocean Pact", "Carioca" and "Pajero".
"Today we didn't have good results, the races had very unstable south wind. We hope tomorrow have better sailing and discount the two points that distance us from the firsts boats in the final two races" Said Gabriel Marino, the Genoa Trimmer of the Roberto Martins' Carioca.
With five races Pajero adds 12 points and is still in the top position overall, but now Crioula has the same points, as Ocean Pact, and 2 points behind is Carioca, so tomorrow we'll have a tough race in the water of Angra Dos Reis among the teams that complete the event.
The Brazilian Championship - second stage - will come to its end On Sunday with the last races at midday at Marina Verolme, Angra Dos Reis, where they will be hosting the award ceremony at 5pm. Nothing is decided yet in a competition where there is no point difference between the first and the second and third place.
