Weston Sailing Club Solent Slog - Preview

It is now less than two weeks until the 2014 Solent Slog at Weston Sailing Club. This year we have again received generous prize sponsorship from Kingfisher Yacht Ropes and are also pleased to announce more generous support from Magic Marine. The total value of prizes for the event is around £800 with these prizes set to be spread well amongst the fleet.
The Solent Slog weekend continues its normal pattern of events with shorter races in Southampton Water on the Saturday before the main event on Sunday. The Solent slog is a long distance racing event open to multihulls with an SCHRS of 1.04 or faster and monohulls of PY 948 or faster. The course takes in a tour of the Solent between Southampton, Gillkicker Point and Hurst Castle, before returning back up Southampton Water.
The event has been a great success in past years with great conditions providing champagne sailing over the weekend. We hope with the support from our sponsors the event will be even better this year.

Remember as with all open events at Weston SC, free camping is available at the club all weekend and the bar will be well stocked with some of Bowmans finest.
