28-29 May 2005
The Bank Holiday weekend sees the second event in the Royal Thames Yacht Club IRM Regatta Series, on 28-29th May. This is the chance for members of the IRM High Performance Class to win a very special trophy: the Royal Thames Trafalgar Cup. Originally called the Vauxhall Cup, the trophy has not been raced for since 1802. It existed at the time of the battle of Trafalgar and is the oldest yachting trophy to be competed for in 2005.
It is a great honour that the RTYC has chosen to award this prestigious trophy to IRM. The regatta will be closely contested by a fleet of 12 or more boats, which constitute the current “grand prix” of UK yachting.
