Allen Brothers sponsor UK International Moth sailor and double European champion Chris Rashley © Allen Brothers
Having a strong and successful racing team has always been something Allen Brothers is very proud of. For 2013 the team has increased in size both domestically and internationally and covers a broad range of the sailing spectrum to ensure that our products are put to the test in as many ways as possible.
Chris Rashley
For 2013 we have added to our sailing team sponsoring UK International Moth sailor and double European champion Chris Rashley who is doing a fantastic job pushing the limits of the moths and hardware ensuring that our production blocks are performing well in some of the most extreme environments. When asked recently why he chose to use Allen hardware he made the following comment:
"My moth, the Exocet, has been designed and built here in the UK and this has some big advantages when designing and testing new innovations and developments on the Moth, so when I had the opportunity to work with Allen, who are also a UK based company producing their hardware here in the UK, I jumped at the opportunity."
Maintaining his form from last year Chris won the first 2013 Moth event hosted by Parkstone Yacht Club and is currently leading the Europeans at Circolo Velico Marsala in Italy.
49er
Continuing their consistent good form in the 49er, Dylan Fletcher and Alan Sign have had a great result in the Hyeres ISAF world cup regatta coming away in Gold Medal position affirming their position as one of the top 49er teams in the world.
Land Yachting Sponsorship
With a keen regard to supporting new ideas we have decided to sponsor land yachting sailor Jake Cookson whose brand new class 3 yacht has already won its first regatta at Redcar reaching speeds in excess of 70 mph.
Youth sailing
Continual support of youth sailing has always been a major consideration with our sponsorship program. With this in mind we have added two UK based 29er teams to the Allen race team. Stirling /Chay Taylor and James Hutton-Penman/Thomas Jayasekara who both race from Burnham Sailing club are rapidly working their way up the ranks in this strong youth class and will be looking to make an impression in the 2013 circuit. Laser sailor Aled Goddard and Mirror team Ben and Gabe Hill will also join the likes of team sailors Rosie and Anna Watkins who had a great season last year on their Allen fitted 420.
Allen Works team
The Allen works team has also been putting in the miles with both Simon Potts and Steve Hall showing great early season pace in the Scorpion and Fireball fleet. Steve is imminently due to put his new Lark in the water with the aim of defending his National Championship win last year, while Simon will be fitting out his new Merlin Rocket ready to hit the water next month. Allen sales manager Rob Lyne has also fitted out his new Albacore which will have its debut at the Inlands this coming weekend. As ever please feel free to ask the team any questions you have about the Allen range at the events or you can contact the sales office at .
