International Moth European Championship in Sicily - Day 4

by Domenico Boffi 3 May 2013 01:43 PDT 28 April - 4 May 2013

6-8 knots of wind, sun and sea. One race in the morning but the weather continues to fail. A day in which the British would have liked to confirm their superiority and in which the Swiss could have redeemed themselves.

The weather is changing and the breeze did not settle in, so the slight thermal morning wind allowed a single race.

The Race Committee kept everyone waiting for the wind, but at 4pm the postponement flag over A was hoisted.

The crews have had time for more boat works and planning the innovations the Moth class is known for, but it is the "bar talk" which was the main activity of the day. Italian, English, Swiss & Belgians all tell their tales and experiences. At the "bar talk" game the Italians are masters and all listen to Stefano Rizzi adventures in the Olympics, America's Cup, Volvo Ocean Race and more... Nothing beats listening to his funny stories from around the world.

Results after Day 4: (three races)
