Hamble Stars race for Coronation Cup
On Sunday 10th April at Erith Yacht Club on the Thames 8 Hamble Stars gathered for the Hamble Star Class Association race for the prestigious Coronation Cup. Plenty of preparation was required before the race; Star owners had been busy weeks before.
The moderate winds and brilliant sunshine later in the day meant that sailors and spectator alike enjoyed the two races.
After racing a presentation on the club ship took place. The Commodore gave out little gifts for the winners and gracious losers. Winners of both races, and trophy winners, were Richard Banner and Tom Murphy in Star 115.
