The Solent's largest multihull distance race, The Solent Slog is only three weeks away. Organised by Weston Sailing Club the event takes place June 4-5th.
This year's event is open to all multihulls with an SCHRS rating of 1.085 or faster, and as always promises to be a fun packed weekend.
Racing activities commence on Saturday 4th June with a short distance race, up and down Southampton Water, to check that travelling boats have been put back together as they should be, and to sharpen longer course tactics. The main event will take place on Sunday 5th June, with the race start from Weston SC, then sailing out of Southampton Water to Gillkicker Point, Cowes, to the Western Solent turning at Hurst Castle, returning via Beaulieu before hooking back in to Southampton Water and finishing at the Weston line.
Participants are invited to arrive at the club from Friday 3rd June afternoon, with camping and facilities available throughout the weekend.
Entry to the weekend's event is £60.00, and includes entry to the two days racing, meals on the Saturday and Sunday evenings, and camping for the duration.
