Yngling Europeans at Fraglia Vela Riva, Lake Garda - Day 3

by Fraglia Vela Riva 6 May 2011 22:57 PDT 4-7 May 2011

With just one day and 1 race remaining in the Yngling European Championships, the Dutch crew of Otte-Haven-Oost have managed to hold on to their lead.

It was a gorgeous day today at Trentino Garda with winds at 10-11 m/sec and waves that weren't too much of a problem which helped the two races scheduled for today to be completed in the best way, thanks also to the technical staff of organisers Fraglia Vela Riva, Italy. With two thirds the Dutch crew (VNED 328) has a comfortable lead 7 points ahead of Slovenians Antoncic-Strakh-Nevecny, who leapt into second place with a 1st and 4th.

Everyone will be battling it out tomorrow in the final race. In 3rd place and equal on points are Gotschalk-Nittegard-Brendstring (with a 2-6 today).

Reigning European Champions Jamin-Smolders-Brerens of The Netherlands are 4th. The final day of the event is tomorrow with the eighth and final race scheduled for midday.
