Free Topper Open at Newbiggin by the Sea Sailing Club

by Liz King 29 Jul 2007 01:08 PDT 2 September 2007

Come and join in the celebrations on the re-launched and regenerated Newbiggin Sea Front by entering the Newbiggin Topper Open event – free of charge – on Sunday 2nd September 2007.

All entry fees for event will be covered by Westminster Dredging, a member of the Royal Boskalis Westminster Group, one of the largest dredging companies in the World.

Westminster Dredging have been working hard all summer bringing the £10million Newbiggin Sea Front regeneration project to life. The project includes new breakwaters, 500,000 tons of new sand, an improved promenade and a fascinating public art sculpture called “The Couple” by internationally renowned artist Sean Henry, which will stand on the end of the new breakwater, looking out to sea.

In all, an exciting project for the north east of England and the UK as a whole, and one that Newbiggin by the Sea Sailing Club would like to share with nationwide Topper sailors and their families.

For entry details and directions please visit the club website at www.newbigginsailingclub.org or email sailing.sec@newbigginsailingclub.org or call the club on 01670 853537.
