Over the past few months of this year there has been a welcome return of 2 Hyde Sails powered boats, one which has always been raced in the Mediterranean, a Beneteau 40.7 ex ‘Nautica’ and now named ‘Playing–around’ and an IMX 40 that went to be raced in France called ‘Meta Baron’. Both these boats had done extremely well with there old owners and this story has not changed with there new owners that have bought them back to be raced in the solent.

‘Meta Baron’ won their class in one of the first RORC races that they competed in since owning the boat and a 3rd in another RORC race just weeks later.

Also the same picture is happening with ‘Playing–around’ who were 3rd in the 40.7 class ‘Beating up the bay’ regatta. This was also one of the first times that the boat had been raced and included two 1st place results amongst their scores.

Well done to both boats. With their continued support from Hyde Sails we look forward to many more good results throughout this season.

Another Winning Impala:

During the middle of last year Mark Bugler took delivery of his new Hyde Impala sails for ‘Saskia 4’. Passing on our class knowledge to Mark which we have been developing over past seasons Mark has gone on to win the IRC class of the Yacht Clubs of Weymouth Spring Series this year. This has proven that ongoing development within a large One Design class on the East coast has know spread further around the country to the South. Yet again congratulations are due.

1st Overall ‘ Saskia 4’ Impala OOD Mark Bugler

J109 victory in ISC class E:

A renamed Hyde Sails powered J109 ex ‘Judgement day’ now named ‘J-XTC’ which has just been bought by Kate Buckingham won class E ISC in Group B to gain a 4th overall in there group during the Round the Island race last weekend. The Buckingham’s had bought this boat mainly with cruising in mind but after a decision to enter this race and with victory in their new boat we will hopefully be seeing them around the start line in future race’s to come.
