This proposed plan change by Northland Regional Council will concern your members:

They are proposing that to anchor and stay overnight within 500m of shore anywhere in Northland (north of Mangawhai) you will require a holding tank on your toilet or a Lectrasan or a PortaPottie on board your boat. Their aim is to try to make it easy for their officers to enforce the present bylaw making it illegal to discharge sewage within 500m of shore.
This will affect racers heading North on the Coastal Classic or for Bay of Islands Race Week, and cruisers.
Should your club feel that this is a bad bylaw, you have a week until 1 September to enter a submission.
