In the Krys Ocean Race, Seb Josse and the Groupe Edmond de Rothschild team have taken the lead from Musandam-Oman Sail. They lead by six miles, but only 9.4 miles separate the leader from fourth placed Foncia.

The crew on Groupe Edmond de Rothschild said this afternoon: 'A sharp transition for us on Groupe Edmond de Rothschild for the first day of racing. Yesterday the heat of New York, now at sea in 25 knots of wind and rolling surf which still allows us to go fast, the norm being between 28 and 34kts. Record speed for the first night is 37.4kts with mainsail and gennaker which is the top speed record for the boat. The Gulf Stream gives us an extra boost, about two knots. And we are already wet and I don’t suppose we’ll be dry again before we get to Krys Ocean Race website
