Entries open for Nassau Cup and Fort Lauderdale to Key West Race

by SORC on 20 Sep 2013

Summer is over and it is time to start planning for the winter sailing season in south Florida and the Bahamas. SORC (Southern Ocean Racing Conference), along with prominent yacht clubs, is busy finalizing some of America’s finest point to point regattas. The regattas are planned conveniently so that work and sailing schedules can coexist.

First up is the 2013 Nassau Cup Ocean Race starting Thursday November 7th. Our next event is the 2014 Fort Lauderdale to Key West Race starting Wednesday January 15th.

Online registration is open for both events and makes getting involved only a few clicks away! Though the weather requests are not always met, the camaraderie and flow of rum are sure to be a part of these favorite long time regattas. Make plans now to come out and participate!

The 2013 Nassau Cup is setting up to be even better and bigger than last year. The buzz is on and we have heard from several competitors that are already getting geared up for this year’s kick starter to sailing in the South during the winter months. Mount Gay has offered to host our Skippers Meeting – complete with rum, give-aways and the prettiest girl servers in town! What a great way to start a race and then to the Bahamas in November! It doesn’t get any better than Nassau Cup Key West Race Montego Bay Race SORC website
