The 33rd edition of the Student Yachting World Cup took off today in Pornic, on France’s Atlantic coast – an event organized by students for students.

Open to all countries to compete, the 2013 edition welcomes 14 teams representing 12 nations. The Ecole Polytecnique chose this location for the 2013th edition and the expectation is high with University pride at stake – as Ireland aims to defend the title won last year by University College Dublin.
