Central Lechera Asturiana is dismasted Barcelona World Race

Barcelona World Race Update.
Central Lechera Asturiana, the IMOCA Open 60 Central Lechera Asturiana of co-skippers Juan Merediz (ESP) and Fran Palacio (ESP) suffered a dismasting in the early hours of this morning off the Portuguese coast while they were on delivery from Sanxenxo to Barcelona for the start of the Barcelona World Race.
The crew are uninjured and in good health and are making towards Cascais, by Lisbon as are the team’s shore crew by road from Galicia. Once there they will further evaluate the situation and assess their options.
Despite this setback the entire team are united in their drive to be at the start of the Barcelona World Race on 31st December.
The competing teams and the Barcelona World Race organisation have already pledged to do all they can to try to ensure that Central Lechera Asturiana makes the race start.

There would be two events within one weekend, as the TT Series concluded
The B14 bandwagon spent the week before the AllSpars Final Fling following the forecasts with great interest. Some inland events were cancelled due to predicted lack of wind. Some took place and the wind was scarce.

Allocation of entries for the 29er Worlds in Kiel
All countries will be allocated a minimum of three entries
The 29er Class has not restricted entries for the World or European Championships in the past but due to the expected popularity of the Worlds in 2026 in Kiel we feel it is necessary to do an Entry Allocation. This is very difficult to do fairly.

Tideway Firefly Inlands at Chew Valley Lake
Another great turnout for the fleet, racing alongside the Mirror class
Chew Valley Lake Sailing Club hosted The Tideway Firefly Inland Championship over the weekend of 4-5 October. A fleet of 40 Fireflys arrived to contest the National Inland title, alongside the Mirror fleet sharing the event.

Merlin Rocket Downriver Race at Ranelagh

Thirteen Merlin Rockets arrived at Ranelagh Sailing Club for their Annual Down River Race. This was the second visit to the club this year in Class's Racing Calendar and was the final event in the Thames, Classic and Vintage Series'.
