Sailor Nick Dana looks at a piece of 1,000-year-old ice, held by Dr. Robert Mulvaney, OBE. The slice of ice was cut from an ice core sourced in Antartica, and the small bubbles in the ice capture air from the time it was formed allowing scientists of the British Antartic Survey to understand atmospheric composition when the ice was formed.
