This is the extraordinary story of the tall ship Privateer Lynx and the exciting lives of the young men and women who sail her. The Privateer Lynx is a powerful 122 foot Top Sail Schooner that looks like an apparition from the past. In reality, she is a modern sailing ship inspired by an earlier Lynx built in 1812, that served as a war machine in her day. The ship's story is that of a young America, fighting to free herself from English domination. With virtually no navy of its own but plenty of Yankee ingenuity, Americans used 'Privateers' like the Lynx to fight the empire that ruled the seas. Today's Lynx honors that tradition.

You'll meet Captain Craig Chipman, an experienced and passionate skipper and teacher, First Mate Michael Killick, a committed master and poet, 'Doc' Cummings, a first-time sailor working as the ship's cook, the female engineer Victoria Pullin, and the other crew who love the Lynx and work hard together as a team.
