In a fantastic coup for the Gold Coast, Sanctuary Cove and exhibitors at the 2012 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, Channel Seven has confirmed Mel & Kochie and all the team from Seven’s 'Sunrise' program will present a 3-hour live broadcast from the boat show, Friday 25 May.

This is a first for an Australian boat show - one of several major initiatives announced at the official Media Launch at Sanctuary Cove yesterday, Thursday 29 March.

Boat show organisers have teamed up with Gold Coast Tourism to take the next step in media partnership with Channel Seven, which has been broadcast partner with the program 'Creek to Coast' along with news packages and weather crosses for several years.

'Having the team from Sunrise here live is a tremendous boost for this year’s boat show,' says Sue Thomson, General Manager Boat Show.

'Sunrise is the leader in breakfast TV, reaching around 900,000 people that Friday morning. The boat show’s stunning venue will be the backdrop for the broadcast, and live breakfast television will capture the ambience and excitement, as well as featuring the range of boats, accessories, various attractions and interesting options for people who may not have considered visiting the show.'

Martin Winter, CEO of Gold Coast Tourism is equally positive.

'The annual Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show maintains a distinguished place within the Asia-Pacific boat show schedule, where an extensive and diverse range of marine industry exhibitors will attract between 40 and 50,000 boating enthusiasts and curious onlookers,' said Mr Winter.

'Our vast range of waterways, including our spectacular coastline, makes the Gold Coast a haven of fun-filled pursuits, where thrill seekers can choose from jetboating, parasailing, kite surfing, diving, jet-ski safaris, snorkelling, tall-ship cruising and yachting.

'We are ecstatic to be able to showcase our marine assets and images of the City’s spectacular natural landscapes to a national audience to reinforce our position as Australia’s favourite holiday destination.'

Proudly sponsored by Club Marine, the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show is now in its 24th year and a member of IFBSO.
